To be completely honest, I have had a lifelong, paralyzing fear of water—but this is the place where I finally faced that fear and conquered the ocean. Snorkeling through these waters was nothing short of a profound, unforgettable experience. An Eco-Conscious Paradise: The park consists of a breathtaking archipelago of 42 islands, but only a small handful are open to tourism. This is what makes Thailand’s approach to conservation so respectable; they deeply protect their marine life and strictly preserve the ecology. The water is pristine, crystal-clear, and calm, and the park rangers do a fantastic job maintaining absolute decorum and cleanliness across the islands. The Day-Trip Breakdown: We booked a full-day boat tour departing directly from Koh Samui. It is a long, immersive itinerary that requires commitment, but it is seamlessly organized: - The Timeline: You get picked up from your hotel around 5:00 AM and return in the evening between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM. - The Activities: The itinerary is fully packed, covering snorkeling, swimming, paddle boarding, hiking, and a buffet lunch. The Viewpoints & Hidden Highlights: The final island, where you halt for lunch and a hike, offers panoramic views that are absolutely breathtaking. Standing at the top, looking out over the emerald lagoons and towering limestone cliffs, makes you feel beautifully small in the vastness of the ocean. Note: Keep a cautious eye on safety when navigating near the steep viewpoints and edges. A Magical Bonus: As if the day wasn’t spectacular enough, the ocean gods gave us a cinematic farewell on our way back. We were incredibly lucky to witness a wild fish hunt—the kind of spectacular scene you only expect to see in a BBC nature documentary—and we even spotted a whale and a few dolphins surfacing alongside the boat! We booked a private speed boat trip , the day was amazing. Our guide Jin changed the stops order so we were alone in most places. The climb to the hidden lagoon is steep but worth it, amazing view. Snorkeling was nice although the water is not clear so you need to do some dives to view some of the fishes. Kayaking, lunch was good with fast services. Last stop at a small lagoon just for ourselves was perfect. I highly recommend the private trips.
